The Bear Beats Band
What surrounds this band can only be described as magic.. Not only in the songs they write and play but also in the story of the band’s inception and career so far..
All 4 members were previously either solo musicians, session musicians or both and they found that within a few hours of playing together that their styles gelled and they created a breathtaking and wholesome fusion of tribal energy and Celtic dreamscapes. What started out as a first band rehearsal turned into an intense writing and recording session which lasted for 4 days solid with little or no sleep - a band & CD were born.. it was quite clear they had something very magical even at such an early stage..
Hailing from the beautiful countryside of Denbighshire in North Wales the Bear Beats Band play an intoxicating mix of contemporary folk blended with elements of world music.
May of 2011 saw them release their debut CD ‘Sharing the Porridge’ which is already receiving National Radio airplay from the BBC and Amazing Radio amongst others.
All band members are multi instrumentalists playing between them - acoustic guitars, african hand percussion, mandola, banjo, bass & double bass, cajon, saxophone, whistles and hauntingly beautiful vocals.
The Band are currently working on their next album, due for release in 2012.
